School Essentials Grant

 

The School Essentials Grant is available to help families on a low income, with children who attend a maintained primary or secondary school. You can use the grant to buy things like school uniform, sports kit, uniform for enrichment activities, school bags, and stationery for your child. You cannot use this grant to buy IT equipment. You could receive a grant of £200 per child if they are starting year 7. You could receive a grant of £125 per child if they attend primary school or are in years 8, 9, 10, or 11.

 

Cardiff Family Advice and Support

 

Cardiff Family Advice and Support offers a range of information, advice and assistance for children, young people and their families in Cardiff. The team can provide information and advice on: Family life Child behaviour Childcare Parental support School attendance Employment, money and housing Information and
signposting to other services.

Jewellery

Pupils may wear one pair of plain stud earrings. Hooped earrings of any kind should not be worn as they pose a risk to the safety of pupils. Pupils can wear a watch, if appropriate. Phone watches are not allowed. All jewellery MUST be covered or removed for all PE/PD sessions. Safekeeping of all jewellery is the responsibility of the child.

PE Kit

Indoor – shorts and t-shirts. No shoes please.
Outdoor – shorts or jogging bottoms, plain t-shirt/sweatshirt and trainers. (No
branded t shirts to be worn)
Children are encouraged to wear their school house colour t-shirt for PE lessons
and sporting events.


Children’s PE kit should be labelled and kept in school, sent home at suitable intervals for washing. We ask that long hair is tied back for P.E.
